More than $14,000 raised for the Newly Launched Capital Fund
SAN DIEGO, May 13, 2002 – Armenians in the Detroit area gathered at the home of Jill and Michael Dolik on the afternoon of May 5th in a very strong show of support for the Millennium Armenian Children’s Vaccine Fund (MACVF). More than 60 individuals from a broad cross section of the Detroit Armenian-American community attended this event to hear Raffy Ardhaldjian, Chief Volunteer Officer of the Ani & Narod Memorial Foundation, present a detailed outline of the MCAVF program and how it will sustain vaccine financing to Armenia’s children each year. Following the talk and a frank and friendly discussion, an enticing Armenian buffet was served featuring cheese pie, itch, lahmajoon, media stuffing, and many other delicious Armenian appetizers.

Support Grows for Newly Launched Capital Fund in Response to Vaccine Shortages
NEW YORK, October 19, 2001 – Armenians in the Chicago area gathered at the home of Christine and Jack Mardoian on September 23rd in a very strong show of support for the Millennium Armenian Children’s Vaccine Fund (MACVF). More than 50 individuals from a broad cross section of the Chicago Armenian-American community attended this event to hear Raffy Ardhaldjian, Chairman of the Ani & Narod Memorial Foundation, explain the vaccine shortages faced by Armenia’s children each year. This benefit, one of several planned around the country, raised more than $18,000 for the newly launched MACVF capital fund to purchase life-saving vaccines for children in Armenia. Pledges included a $3,000 “challenge grant” by a member of the Program Advisory Council for the MACVF.

Funds in Place to Secure Armenia’s Immediate Need for Measles, Mumps and Rubella (MMR) Vaccine
NEW YORK, New York, September 26, 2001 – Garnering further support to alleviate Armenia’s vulnerability to vaccine shortages, the Millennium Armenian Children’s Vaccine Fund (MACVF) received a $100,000 donation from the Lincy Foundation to purchase life-saving vaccines for Armenia’s children. Combined with recent donations from the Cafesjian Family Foundation and other contributions to the newly launched capital fund, the MACVF is now armed with sufficient resources to respond to Armenia’s request for the measles, mumps and rubella (MMR) vaccine.
